Campaigning for an end to low pay, exploitation and abandonment
Nautilus International will campaign for fair pay and good terms and conditions for members. The Union aims to have as many members as possible covered by collective bargaining.
The Union will fight for the UK National Minimum Wage to cover those working in domestic waters who are not currently protected. Case studies will be used to highlight those being paid less than the national minimum wage, or the standard pay for seafarers in that country which drives down pay for all and means local seafarers cannot compete for local jobs.
The Union will campaign for an end to low pay, exploitation, abandonment, and owed wages which continue to affect far too many of the world’s seafarers, creating a race to the bottom for all.
