Maritime Skills Academy gains GUEST gold standard for hospitality course

23 April 2020

Superyacht crew in hospitality can now complete their qualifications at the Maritime Skills Academy (MSA) knowing it meets the gold standard of training.

MSA has gained GUEST approved provider status for its existing stewarding introduction course, which it runs in partnership with the Exclusive Butler School (EBS). It is the only internationally accredited maritime hospitality and service training programme available to crew working in the luxury super yacht sector.

The course is taught by butlers and industry experts with hands-on experience of working onboard superyachts, in luxury chalets, villas and prestigious estates.

MSA training and performance director Mark Jaenicke said: 'The process was extremely thorough and proved the competence of our procedures and trainers. This gives us full confidence in the quality we are delivering, as well showing the industry we have a reputable course on offer.'

The course includes an introduction to the industry, elite housekeeping standards, wardrobe management and valeting, packing and unpacking, table service skills, wine service and knowledge, drinks mixology, flower arranging and table decoration, organising and hosting special event.
