Service record book
Members working in the large yacht sector are urged to take advantage of the Union's industry-leading Service Record Book (SRB) which is available free of charge to members
The Nautilus SRB records and calculates qualifying sea service for certification. Nautilus has worked closely with the MCA in developing this facility for yachting members.
Superyacht crew can still present their proof of seatime using ordinary testimonials, but the Nautilus SRB will ensure their application for a Notice of Eligibility (NOE) can be dealt with quickly.
Sea service verification
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) Marine Information Note (MIN) 543 (M) describes the revised arrangements for verification of sea service testimonials of seafarers working in the large yacht sector. The notice formalises arrangements for delegating authority for verification of sea service to Nautilus for its members.
The Union has also produced a sea service testimonal template and a handy guide to the verification process it uses for assisting members with a Notice of Eligibility (NoE) or the revalidation of a Certificate of Competency (CoC).
